FocusGuard Site Blocker
Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 13, 2026
FocusGuard Site Blocker is a Chrome extension that helps users reduce distractions by blocking user-selected websites, URL keywords, and preset site categories during always-on, focus-timer, or scheduled sessions.
Data the extension handles
FocusGuard handles limited web browsing activity data only as needed to provide its blocking features. This may include:
- Website domains and URLs that the user adds to the block list.
- URL keywords and category settings selected by the user.
- URLs and domains checked during browser navigation to determine whether a page should be blocked.
- Local block statistics, including blocked URL, host, match reason, label, and timestamp for recent blocked visits.
- Extension settings such as focus timer, schedule, custom block-page message, and optional redirect URL.
FocusGuard does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, health information, authentication credentials, personal messages, location data, keystrokes, mouse activity, or website page content.
How data is used
The extension uses this data only to:
- Compare navigated URLs against the user's local blocking rules.
- Redirect matching pages to the extension block page or to a user-selected redirect URL.
- Display the current site's block status in the popup.
- Show local statistics and recent blocked visits in the dashboard.
- Preserve the user's settings across browser sessions.
Storage and sharing
FocusGuard stores extension data locally in the user's browser using chrome.storage.local. Data is not sold, shared, transferred to third parties, or used for advertising or profiling.
FocusGuard does not send user data to external servers and does not use remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly code.
Data retention and deletion
Block rules and settings remain stored locally until the user changes or removes them, clears extension storage, or uninstalls the extension.
Recent blocked-visit statistics are stored locally and can be cleared from the extension dashboard by using the reset option. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data from Chrome.
Permissions
FocusGuard requests Chrome permissions needed for its single purpose:

This policy may be updated when the extension changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
